We've come a long way...

This entire semester has been dedicated to building this robot from scratch. Hundreds of hours in open lab. Dozens of burnt out muxes, op-amps, and radios. Thousands of lines of code. And here's an overview of what we have to show for it.

What can this bad boy do?

He is an autonomous mobile robot i.e. he can move all by himself like a big boy
He is able to follow a line, no matter how twisted
He detects walls to his front, left and right and successfully avoids them
He comes to life at the sound of a 660Hz tone
He senses other robots coming towards him and successfully avoids running into them. He's a little anti-social
He is able to successfully traverse a maze using the Depth First Search algorithm
He maps his traversal onto an external screen (via GUI) so we can track his movements like normal parents do

Operating Conditions

What can we do to help him work?

Arduino is not water-resistant. He hates getting his hair wet!
Don't throw him down a flight of stairs. He will not survive! He is not impact resistant
Arduino can follow lines of any length. They just have to be white and have a width of approximately 1.8cm
There is no maze too small or too big for Arduino to traverse. But let's not test him beyond a 9x9 maze
He doesn't see things more than 13.3cm to his left and right as walls. He doesn't see things more than 14.8cm in front of him as walls. The walls can be any colour though
He works best under fluorescent lighting
He has selective hearing. He only hears 660Hz

He consistently makes perfectly smooth turns
He consistently detects walls to his front, left and right as long as they are within range
He consistently updates the GUI accurately
He consistently does not detect treasures, no matter the colour
